great ski pack

Bought this pack for ski touring in the western US, mainly day trips that involve 4K+of vert and 10 plus miles. Also to use for multi day ski tour hut trips. Purchased in Jan 2024, so far only used the pack for 5 ski days this winter. I really like the fit of the pack. It is fairly narrow and the widest part of the pack is up high. Plenty of room to move your head around when skiing even with a full load. There is a built in curve to the back panel which I find very comfortable. The removable top pocket and the extended main compartment are great features. I also really like the small pocket on the hip belt. I keep a small water flask and my phone in there and both are easily accessible on the go. I have been ski touring for 12 years and this is the best pack I have ever tried.

Just what I needed as a 6’4” skier

I am loving the pack so far! I’ve been searching for a long time to find a pack long enough for my 6’4” frame. This fits the bill. I’ve taken it in a few ski tours. All of my gear fits and there’s a hole to run my radio hand mic out. Pack is sturdy and fits well. I love the opening on the back side. Makes switch gloves, pulling out a camera, grabbing snacks, etc. so easy and fast!

Perfectly Thought Out

This pack does exactly what it was made to do, to get you and your gear in and out of the backcountry. I have tested this pack out on a few trips now and I have found that it carries all the ski gear very well and comfortably. I feel that a 40L pack is the perfect size to have when you spend the day in the backcountry. Just like all of HMG products, this pack is durable and a reliable tool to have out in the backcountry.
